Engaged Views for YouTube Studio — last updated 15 September 2026

Summary

Engaged Views for YouTube Studio does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data. The extension has no server of its own, no analytics and no telemetry. It asks YouTube for your own analytics, using the YouTube session already open in your browser, and draws the result on the page. Nothing is sent anywhere else.

What the extension accesses

The extension runs only on pages under https://studio.youtube.com/. It requests no access to any other website. On that domain it:

• reads the analytics data for the video or channel you are currently looking at — specifically the engaged views and views series for the selected period;
• observes YouTube Studio's own analytics requests, solely to know which screen and which period you are viewing. The numbers shown in the card always come from the extension's own request, never from those observed responses.

How it obtains the data

It calls YouTube's own analytics endpoint from your browser, authenticated with the YouTube session you already have open — the same way the Studio page itself does. There is no OAuth flow, no API key, no Google Cloud project and no quota. Requests go from your browser to youtube.com and stop there. No intermediate server exists and no data is routed through the author or any third party.

You only ever see data for channels your own account can already access.

What the extension stores

Two preferences, on your own machine, via chrome.storage.local:

• which series filter you picked (Both or Engaged only);
• which time range you picked (Studio, 48 h, 7 d, 28 d, 90 d or 1 y).

That is all. No analytics figures are cached to disk, and nothing stored contains personal information. Removing the extension erases it.

What the extension does not do

• It does not collect personally identifiable information, credentials, financial information, health information, location, browsing history, or the contents of your communications.
• It does not read or modify any site other than studio.youtube.com.
• It does not send your data to the author or to any third party.
• It does not load or execute remote code.
• It does not show ads, and it does not monetise your data in any way.

Third parties

There are none. No data is shared with any third party, because no data is ever collected.

Changes to this policy

If the extension ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised before the change ships.
